Soft floor campers

If you are looking for a camper trailer that is more compact and lighter so you can access remote areas more easily, soft floor campers are the best choice. Thanks to their lightweight advantage, these campers require lower towing capacity, thus save on fuel costs. What is more, they offer the most storage potential for your extras. Hence, soft floor campers are an ideal option for larger groups that require additional space for beds, tables, chairs and other camping items.

Generally speaking, soft floor campers are cheaper to buy compared to than their hard-floored counterparts, but buyers can always strike a good bargain if they know how to negotiate price.

Hard floor campers 

Compared to soft floor campers, these campers weigh substantially more. For that reason, they require higher towing capacity. Hard floor campers usually come in a wind-up or lift-over style. They do not offer as much storage space as comparable soft floor alternatives because they are restricted by the size of the trailer top or roof and, most features like beds are permanently attached to the interiors of the camper. 

A major selling point of several hard floor camper models is that they are relatively easier to erect and pack away. This makes it a lot simpler to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks. Plus, hard floor camper models offer better protection against dirt, water and other external elements because of their elevated flooring design. Perhaps these are the main reasons why they cost more than their soft floor camper cousins. 

Most soft and hard camper trailers come with standard features, but as the number of accessories add up, the price increases. So make sure you strike a balance between what you need and the available budget.
